A Little About Your Favorite Scranton, PA Postpartum Doulas…

Hello there. I’m Tammy Swetter, your Scranton, PA Postpartum Doula, and owner of Rooted In Nurture LLC!

I am a Certified Postpartum Doula, Licensed Nurse, and CPST living in rural Northeast Pennsylvania. My husband, John, and I have been blessed with two children, Sofie and Joseph; a son-in-law, Mike; a precious granddaughter, Martha; and a Boston Terrier named Sulley.

My husband and I made the decision for me to be a stay-at-home mother to our children for about 11 years. Once I knew it was time to get back out into the workplace I went back to school in 2014 and became a nurse. Although I have truly loved my nursing career of serving others in a vulnerable time of need, I still felt there was more out there in the world for me. That I could do more, serve more, support and educate more.

After much reflection on my own journey through motherhood and parenting a newborn with severe colic, all while suffering with postpartum depression myself, I knew there was a serious need for better postpartum care for new mothers & their families. This led me to my calling of becoming a Certified Postpartum Doula. I support families in the Scranton, PA and surrounding areas!

Above all, my goal is to ease your transition into parenting and help new mothers have a better postpartum experience. All mothers deserve a strong support system. It’s important to realize that it is acceptable to ask for help and we were not meant to do this alone! Part of my role as your Doula will be to support you in such a way to empower you to make informed decisions during your own journey.

I’m invested in each & every family that I have the honor to work with. My hope is to help you make this postpartum time in your journey into parenthood as positive as possible. All while fostering confidence in you! By nurturing you & providing non-judgmental care I hope to help you navigate life with your newborn. After all, it takes a village to lift up a mother and raise a child!

Hi! My name is Jocelyn Keating. I am a certified postpartum doula and have my Bachelor’s degree in Child Development and Family Relations. My husband Andrew and I have four beautiful children, Everly, Lyla, Charlotte, & Archer. I am originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and now
reside here in Northeast PA.

After having worked in childcare for many years and after the birth of our son we decided for me to be a stay-at-home mom. I’ve been a stay-at-home mom for two years now and love being home with my babies, but I also understand firsthand how challenging it can be. During the Covid pandemic, I had a lot of time to reflect on what I wanted to do with my life. Becoming a postpartum doula has always been a dream of mine, so I enrolled in a postpartum doula certification course and accomplished my dream!

Thinking about my own journey through motherhood and postpartum I know how lonely and scary it can be. When you need someone in your corner to be there for you, listen to you, and to support you…which can be hard to find! My goal is to be that person for each and every client that I support. I want to help you ease into this new role and help you have a better postpartum experience. You are not alone. It is ok to ask for help and support. I am here to help and give you confidence in this journey!
